Welcome to the Culture Swally website!

Every fortnight we review a classic Scottish film or TV series. From the work of celebrated playwright Peter MacDougall to popular classics such as City Lights and Still Game. Over our 50+ episodes we’ve reviewed everything; from the very first episode of Taggart from 1983 to 2019’s superb Our Ladies. In 2021 we did a special Euro 202 episode where we discussed our favourite singles released to cheer the Scottish National Team on in their many ill-fated, yet somehow magnificent, campaigns over the years.

Every episode, before we get into our review, we take a sideways look at the some of the more irrelevant news stories doing the rounds in Scotland. Battling Grannies, poorly considered tattoos and, for some reason, an alarming number of stories about men masturbating in public……
